Visual C++ Runtime Error

Hi!

Please, is there some explanation/cure for the Visual C++ Runtime Error on
Windows Update?

The error message has begun to pop-up when updating the .NET Framework 1.1
Service Pack 1 pointing to Program:
C:\DOCUME~1\username\LOCALS~1\Temp\SL1C.tmp or some other similar name
program. When checking the code for the failing update there is noted
0x80000007, but the suggested cure for it, the .NET cleanup by Aaron Stebner
doesn't give any help for this.

So, is this an error on Windows Update or Visual C++, and how to cure it?

Best regards,

Hi!

Thanks for MowGreen for a reply on this topic on the Windows Update group.

But sorry, I have already been checking the Aaron Stebner hints, the hints
for IE Extra Toolbar deletions and ActiveX disablings, and Safe Mode, and
malware checkings/deletions etc., but none of these have been helping on
this!

This Visual C++ Runtime Error problem seems to be more common, it will be
popping-up also on other programs and ActiveX's, not only on the .NET Update
....

Still other ideas?

Could this have something to do with a possible corruption on the msvcrt's?
And which name msvcrt's trying to re-load, a.s.o.?

Best regards,

Pete V.
