Visual C++ Runtime Error in IE6

B

Bob

When displaying some webpages (some contain Java, some
don't) IE6 dies with the message:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the support team for
more information.

Has nybody seen this? I'm running Win2K with all updates.
Or is there any way I can find out whats happening?

Hi

Getting the exact same Error message. I think it seems to
be from when I started using the .NET sign in.

Can't be too sure though.

The error only occurs when I click on a link and it opens
in a new page, but not always.

Look at the error, if abnormal then it's this parasite, if Unusual way then
the Java issue.

Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++, Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.

Runtime!
"Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\explore.exe"
The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
It appears that I have both Java(Sun) and MS VM on the PC. After
disabling/unchecking Java(Sun) the runtime error ceased in IE6. Source:
