visual basic for applications project in the database is corrupt

I get "visual basic for applications project in the database is corrupt"
when I open my Access 2003 file. I can't compact/repair and I can't run the
database. I haven't converted from a previous version of Access. Lots of
work into this database and I don't really want to start again from the
previous version.

Try to create a new data base, and import all the objects from the old MDB.
Just a thing that might work, instead of creating all from scratch.

When I go to export in the corrupted database, I get the same error (many
times). I see most/all posts refer to compiled databases, but I have not
made a .mde file. Only a lot of VB code.
