Deb

I just bought a new computer with Vista. All of my old Word 2002 and Excel
2002 documents are giving me a lot of trouble. I tried to email a Word
document once I got it into Works and the recipient could not open it. What
is the best way to proceed? I have been told that Microsoft Works is terrible.

Works isn't terrible. It does what it needs to do. Did your recipient have
Works on his/her computer? I would suggest picking up Office if you are
going to be dealing with Word and Excel files.

Your subject says Vista, but the question appears to concern Word and Excel
or is it Works? Do you have Office on this PC? Do you have Word as part of
the extended Works Suite? Works is not Word and only has limited Word
compatibility. Existing documents should not be affected and I see no reason
why you should not e-mail them as attachments.
