Vista & Xbox 360 - WMP11 Media Sharing

Since starting to use Vista on my main PC at home I have an intermittent
problem sharing media to my Xbox 360. The Windows Media Centre Extender works
reliably for me, but within the native 360 media interface I can sometimes
browse my music library without issue and sometimes start up my Xbox to find
I get 'no albums found' when I try to reach my PC music. No errors are
reported, it just claims there is no music there.

All my music is indexed and shared within WMP11 and I've never had to make
any changes to that in order to get access to my music again, it just seems
to come back.

I've not as yet been able to narrow down exactly when I lose access or what
has happened before it is restored, although I think I may lose access after
a PC reboot.

My Xbox and Vista machine are interconnected via a wired LAN and I don't run
a firewall inside my LAN, so there should be nothing blocking comms.

Any ideas or suggestions? Anything I can check? I've not as yet seen any
related errors in the event logs, or found any log files on disk that contain
any relevant errors.

Try UPnP on your router, might solve the problem, could also be your
firewall on your pc.
So far Vista/MP11 and my XBox360 are working fine together.

As per my original question, there are no firewalls running inside my LAN
(including on the Vista PC). UPnp is also already turned on, unfortunately.

So, thanks, but I don't think that's it.

It happened again yesterday, this time definitely not due to a PC reboot. I
got access back by disabling then re-enabling media sharing in WMP11 -
whether that was fix or coincidence though, I cannot say.
