I wrote a DVD-RW and then I placed a regular DVD (adobe CS2 install disk)
into my drive. Vista wont refresh and see the drive.

I have:
1. Ejected, Removed and Reinserted the drive
2. Tried placing a dvd-r in the drive for it to write to
3. Checked for driver updates.
4. Restarted the computer.

AB123456789,

Just to make sure everyone, including me, understands, when you say "Vista
wont refresh and see the drive," do you mean the drive letter has
disappeared? That is, Vista no longer recognizes that a drive is connected.
Or do you mean that the DVD placed in the drive is not recognized?

In addition, does Device Manager show whether the device is connected and
operating properly? Check the Properties for the drive in Device Manager for
indications of an issue. Post back.
