Vista Wireless Problem...

Hey,

I just got a new HP laptop running Vista and I can't get it to connect to my
home wireless router. The router is a U.S. Robotics 8054, and it suposed to
be 100% compatible with Vista. My wireless card is turned on, the computer
sees that the connection is there but every time I try to connect, I get the
same error message 'Wireless association failed because Windows did not
receive any response from the wireless router or access point."

My old HP laptop running XP can connect just fine....any suggestions on how
to fix this?!?! Thanks!

Colin,

There was a recent Vista update that fixed a few WiFi issues.

Are you using the Windows WiFi client, or the client provided by the WiFi card,
or by the laptop vendor? Make sure that only one client is running, at any
time.
