Make sure you copy the whole link above into your browser, also see the
links on the bottom of those page
since this test has multiple pages.

A horrible uneducated MVP (Dana Cline - MCE MVP) was clueless about vista's
flop performance in games...
Not only performance was degraded compared to XP but these tests show
how many problems you will run into using the worse OS microsoft ever built.

she wanted proof.. well here it is. Educating the vistaboys and gals for one
more time....

and I quote from that test

"In the end, it looks like the the new, bulky, poorly supported operating
system is at the root of it all. "

What have I been saying for the last 8 months? >>>> Vista is Stupid (TM)

Except that it does not say that Vista 'flops'.. it actually says that there
is little difference and that Vista will get better.. as always you pick the
phrases that you like best and then quote them out of context..

Oh, and btw, Dana Cline is a guy, not a gal..

A picture is worth 1000 words. Did you see the charts showing clearly the
slowness of vista?

I have seen many such tests.. and my personal tests show vista to be
ridiculously slow.

XP is faster on the same hardware, if it was not for the vistaboys claiming
that Vista is faster,
I would not need to select the points where sites clearly say that vista is
a "bulky, poorly supported operating
system "

I have to add to their insults about vista, that it is also poorly
conceived, poorly designed and poorly implemented.

Mike Hall - MVP

Ridiculously slow generally, or just while executing specific tasks?

At the base of the first page of that report it says 'We’d be foolish to
brand Vista with a “sucks for gaming” label if at some point in the future,
whatever performance delta may or may not be present is closed with driver
revisions or a service package.'

Again, you take just one statement out, omitting anything that doesn't suit
your purpose.. and your purpose is to get back that the very few who claim
Vista is faster for any given hardware?

Maybe some things that users do with their computers do appear faster to
them.. for many, there is no appreciable speed difference.. so much depends
upon what each user likes doing most.. and does it really matter anyway.. I
used to run XP in classic mode for speed.. now I run Vista with all bells
and whistles.. it is not ridiculously slower than XP was.. it may well take
a few more seconds to boot up, but I am running more at bootup than I used
to do, and the concept of timing it seems pointless anyway.. I run what I
want run at startup, and have to take the 'time' hit for doing so..

File transfer can be slow, but much depends on start and finish point.. so
what!! it will most likely get fixed before too long..

You say that you are not a troll, yet you use troll vocabulary, and each
time you look to be losing ground in one of your posts, you put up another
that you consider may help your cause.. and that is what it has become, yes?
a cause..

BY posting hundreds of useless messages to the vista.general group, Tiberius
is continuing his studies of how to bog down the Microsoft communities news
server and therefore being able to pound his chest and announcing to the
planet, HEY Microsoft newsgroups sucks. Must be a Vista issue! Ha.

You keep posting some of the mose useless crap around. Pasting URL after
URL about Vista and XP. XP and Vista. How Vista sucks, how XP is GOD's
gift to the universe. You must spend countless hours scouring the Internet
for anyting you can get your sticky hands on just to provoke an argument
from people.

If you spent just 10% of your time channeling your energy towards helping
people in the community, we would have a much better place to live. But you
keep posting dribble after dribble, annoying most everyone here.

Even after my dog licks his balls, he just shakes his head when he reads the
posts.

Give it a rest. GEEZE.

With every new release of Nvidia drivers I gain more and more 3D
performance. So that begs the question....Does Vista suck or do drivers
suck?

Things that make you go, Hummmmm.........

I'm almost at a break even point with the Nvidia drivers (as far as 3DMark
is concerned) and they still have a ways to go with the driver. So as your
article mentions, "As you can see, some games fared better than others with
the new OS.", some are better now and most will be better later (if it makes
you feel any better I'll add a "most likely" in there for you).

Yes Vista is somewhat dissapointing for games. Aside from the drop in
frame rate the loss of surround sound on many games is what I find the
most dissapointing. A few FPS lost here and there might not ever be
noticable on a beefy PC, but loss of surround sound is :(

I've done a few experiments of my own to try and figure out why Vista is
slower for games and I concluded that it isn't down to UAC or Windows
Defender, the root of the problem is probably drivers.

Best advice for gamers? Run a dual boot system, after all, DirectX 10
games are Vista only, and likely to be pretty damn snazzy.

Or, you could go to Linux, but I don't think that is going to run your
games any better !

Tiberius the troll !!
I do not know why people pay attention to the drivel this amateur writes
about Vista !! It is not like he has a clue of what is good or bad in a
operating system....Point being if he thinks xp is so great obviously he was
not using computers when xp came out or he might remember how bad it was
hence the term AMATEUR....He is so busy raving about anything other than the
point some one is trying to make that these posts get taken way off on a
tangent...Once again AMATEURISH.....But I suppose we should all throw out
our perfectly good Vista systems and follow his lead back in the past to
XP...Can you say AMATEUR !!! I mean hell we must ALL be wrong and ALL VISTA
MACHINES do not work and should once again be changed back to XP....I say
get a frickin life troll and stay on the porch with the rest of the puppies
cuz this is where the Big dogs help people not pee all over everything....

Well, no insults from me, but I do think Vista is fine. Although there's a
lot to work on, yet, the OS is fine. Tiberius might be having a PTD after
some issue w/ Vista.

Having read the entire article, I can only conclude that I continue to
be correct about you being a troll. So please spare "we the community"
any more of your so called "help".
