I am running 32 bit vista and about once every couple of days or if the
system is slightly taxed the main system volume slider will turn itself all
the way down. I can grab the slider with the cursor and drag it back up but
when I release it, the slider will slide back to zero. The audio isn't
muting and the audio card is still functioning, it is just the control that
is turning itslef all the way down. I contacted my PC manufacturer and they
sugested that it was a power problem and suggested a few system power
management changes. The solution they provided had no effect. I thought
that it was a ram issue since certain games would always cause a turn down,
but I just added another two gigs of ram and am still having the same
frequency of occurences.
