I’ve searched the web for a bit now and can not find any pricing info I am
looking at buying a laptop that comes with Vista Home Premium but I would
like to go up to Vista Ultimate HP offers the upgrade to Ultimate for $115 is
this worth it or can I use the in vista up grader to convert Home Premium to
Ultimate cheaper?

Thanks in advanced

I heard that if you get a system with vista you can upgrade to a higher level
of vista from MS directly while still in windows or at least you could in the
beta those are the prices i am looking for i dont need to buy a full copy
just the upgrade

You are right. You would only need the upgrade version. Be aware... just
because it will be an "in-place" upgrade doesn't mean you have the necessary
drivers for Vista. You'll have to do your own research. Run the Update
advisor utility that is part of the vista installation and make your own
decisions.

Keep in mind what "higher version" really means. You can go from Home to
virtually anything else since Home is the lowest. But you cannot go from XP
Pro to Home Premium or Home. You would need either Business or Ultimate from
XP Pro.
