'Vista upgrade advisor' query

Why does this advisor assume that the only available hardisk space is that
in my primary XP partition?
It report to me that I have only 5.72 Gbytes available and therefore not
enough to upgrade; but I have 15GB free in partition C and many more Gig in
other partitions of my 30 and 60Gig hardrives and my 300Gig USB drive.

Most like because Vista upgrade will install to the partition where Windows
XP is installed.
Other partitions may be Extended partitions with 'Logical Drives' and
therefore not bootable.

Because it assumes that it will replace XP on the C drive.......if all else
is fine then you can try Vista.
But I would be setting it up for dual boot with XP...........which I did
initially but now run it on my spare system exclusively.
Build 5744 works great....no major problems so far.
good luck
