Vista Ultimate Upgrade Problem

I am trying to upgrade XP Media Edition to Vista Ultimate. The upgrade
process said that I had no major issues, just a couple of programs that might
not function properly. It gathered all the necessary files and then
re-booted. When it reboots, I get a blue screen with a message stop ... then
some addresses. Any ideas on how to get past this?

Uninstall the programs it identified as well as any antivirus solution you
are using.
