vista trouble!

help!
This laptop has a mind of its own after installing Vista.
I cant type in a straight line. Text jumps all around the screen and types
over itself.
anyone out there that has has a similar problem?

After you istalled Vista (clean install? upgrade?) did you then install
all the drivers for Vista and any laptop-specific software? It sounds as
though you are missing at least the video and perhaps touchpad drivers.
You would need to get these drivers/software from your laptop mftr.'s
tech support site for your specific model laptop.

Could it be something simple?

I had the FN selected on my laptop and it typed strange letters
corresponding to the function keys.
