None-the-less, it is part of 'Everything'.
Ergo, Vista is not better at 'Everything'.
It may be worthless to you, but not to everyone. I had thought the same,
but you know what, it was because it never seemed to work right. I always
turned off fading menu's, and min/max animations. The main reason was the
time factor it took to fade in/out the menu, to min and max windows. I've
got those set to 200ms duration. The 'burn' animation is wicked.
Here's another thing that I like, with Windows, a maximized window is a
maximized window, it can't be moved. You have to 'Restore' it to move it.
Under Ubuntu/Compiz, you can just grab a maxed window's titlebar and move
it. That's a pretty neat animation also, the window frame sort of
'sticks' to the sides of the screen up to a certain point, and then it
breaks away, and springs back to shape.
I'm not saying that it will happen, but I can see MS buying Compiz and
porting it to Windows, because after all, that is what they do right, buy
s/w rights to things that they have failed to do well themselves ?
The Vista desktop widget things are worthless in my opinion.
Folder browser panes that auto-horizontal scroll are worthless if not
downright annoying.
There's more worthless 'features' as well. Shall I go on ?
This is untrue ? No.
I've never had a problem with any OS I've run. Looking at the advice
here, that STILL seems to be one of the first things to do when you are
having problems with Vista.
