I have a desktop which runs XP Pro and my new laptop which runs Vista. I did
all of the reading to network them and I can see them on each computer BUT it
says that the path is not valid when I try to access them. I am so
frustrated by this because my old laptop was XP Pro and the file sharing was
just great.

Any Ideas?

If you can see them but not accessible, double check the security software or permissions. This step by step troubleshooting may help,
