Vista speak beter than XP but it can't read aloud?

In windows XP, I could have my word (xp 2002) documents read aloud to me by
way of text-to-speech via a link on the language bar. Now however, when
installed under vista this function is apparently no longer available, and
with the amazing improvement that Vista's TTS engine has over XP I really
wish it was. Is there anyway for this function of Office XP to work under
Vista, or is the only solution to upgrade to a newer version of office which
I surly hope do still include TTS abilities and work properly under vista.

I believe Sam and I are looking for the same thing: the text of the document
read aloud when we want it to be, not the entire screen read back to us at
all times. In XP there was a text-to-speech/speech-to-text toolbar with a
convenient "Start reading" button... I miss it in Vista.
