SP1 = slow poke one...

Guys dont expect SP1 to fix vista... it will remain slow and buggy beyond
belief!

Vista is unfixable...

Vista was horrible written and cannot be fixed... MS knows that..

Format your PC and install xp or linux or something...

anything but vista!

Then wait until the next version of windows comes out... since there seems
to be a pattern>>>>

Bad release win85, Good release win98, Bad release windows Me, Good release
windows XP, Bad
release windows Vista, Good release windows 7.

Mrs. Mike Glenn

Excellent advice. Rush out and install a Beta product to replace Vista.
Good thinking there Einstein !

I have and it is faster.. but thats because it doesnt have some of the bloat
vista has...

on the other hand you can use vlite.net to remove bloat from vista...

Sorry ... everything that was made with Vista in mind was a total flop,
including, office2007, windows media player 11, and ie 7

not to mention all the "live" products that they are getting ready to deploy
as malware to the world!

The Mike Glenn Syndrome is a term used when a person has certain
limitations in mental functioning and in skills such as communicating,
taking care of him or herself, and social skills. These limitations will
cause a poster to learn and develop more slowly than a typical poster.
Brain dead morons with Mike Glenn Syndrome may take longer to learn
to speak, walk, and take care of their personal needs such as dressing or
eating. They are likely to have trouble learning in school, and posting to
Microsoft newsgroups. They will learn, but it will take them longer. There
may be some things they cannot learn. They keep trying. Make sure to
continue your Meds.

Hi Mike, sorry I have to disagree with you. I installed Vista 32bit on a
Dell single core 2.8gb w/1gb of ram. At 1st i really hated Vista because
there wasn't any Intel VGA driver to be found, Vista, Intel or Dell
didn't provide one. The video had the safe mode look. After installing a
GeForce4 MX 420 PCI card my video now is near perfect, Vista had the
driver for that. After doing some minor tweaks like only having AVG on
startups, tweaking cable connections, ran a couple of 3rd party programs
like a defrag with PerfectDisk, etc. In other words the system is clean.
I have to say it, thought I never would, I'm quite amazed how it
performs! Speed wise, it's fast, if not faster than any of my XPs. I'm
running 6 PCs, Dells & HPs, nothing lower than a 2.1gb, all with 1 gb
ram, I stay on top of everyone of them, all are well maintained.
Now, I'm quite aware Vista was designed for Dual-Core 64 bit, honestly,
performance wise on my sigle core 32 bit I can't see how it could be much
better? However, I don't play games and probably never will, perhaps if I
did that it would show it's true performance?
You never did say what you are running it on, store bought, what size,
make, so on.
Also, I just want to make note, I ran ME on three PCs for three years
and never once ever had a problem, not once, never a bad boot, never had
a blue srceen, all 3 ran smooth. I had more problems with 98! I think
what happened was ME was launched and people disliked it at first until
the bugs were fixed, the they jumped right to 2000 or XP and never gave
it a chance, but, It was smooth. I still have two old 500mhz HPs with ME
just in case?
just my 2 cents, don't throw rocks!

You know, I thought I would feel the same way, but I don't. I am quite
happy with Vista on my new HP laptop. Maybe it's the laptop that's so
good I do not experience the horrors of Vista? :)

What's really important to me is that Vista seems rock solid deep
down. Memory management is much better, and it runs with the same
solid feel as OS X does. That's really good and frankly a little bit
surprising.

My main problem with Vista is two fold: Some drivers aren't ready for
Vista yet. For instance, the network card driver that came with my
laptop creates blue screens when the computer wakes up. After those
crashes I have the option to have Vista go on-line and look for a
solution. The first two times I thought "yeah right, like that's gonna
work". But the third time I did it and after a few seconds I got a
message back that I should got to the Marvell site and look for an
updated driver. So I did. Problem solved. Isn't that great? :)

I think a lot of people are complaining about Vista being horrible
because they think their problems come from the OS itself when it
seems to have to do with drivers and third party applications more
often than not. Of course, an OS should be compatible with the
software that's out there for it, but give it some time and it will
be. So before writing off Vista make sure you understand where your
problems come from and base your judgment on that. That's what I've
been doing and found that Vista has a good and stable heart.

I got rid of Windows Defender, UAC and some other stuff. Without those
things I feel I am working on a faster, more stable, better looking
version of XP (without the up button in Explorer which I miss. People
tell me I do not need it. I do!)

Now a rational person would ask, what would I provide by posting this
information? But since you are NOT rational, you just post garbage posts
after garbage posts. Meaningless to all (or most).

Who cares about OpenSores Linux/Ubuntu in the Vista group? Don't you get it
you thick headed moron?

Just FYI - Who cares about the Just FYI after each sentence you post. Just
FYI. You must have severe retardation - Just FYI.

Capitalize each word in a sentence. You must be proud. You Mama and Daddy
must tell all the neighbors about your accomplishments. Just FYI.

Remember - The Republicans are having issues with their members. Just FYI.
Some of them are even GAY. Just FYI. Some of them go looking for boys and
men in restrooms. Just FYI.

There was a guy Kevin P riding through the desert on his camel. He had
been travelling so long that he felt the need to have sex. Obviously there
were no women in the desert so Kevin turned to his camel.

He tried to position himself to have sex with his camel but the camel ran
away. Kevin ran to catch up to the camel and got back on and started to ride
again. Soon he was feeling the urge to have sex again so once again he
turned to his camel. The camel refused by running away. So he caught up to
it again and go on it again.

Finally after riding the camel through the whole desert the man came to a
road. There was a broken down car with three big chested beautiful blondes
sitting in it.

He went up to them and asked the women if they needed any help.
The hottest girl said ,"If you fix our car we will do anything you want."
The man luckily knew a thing or two about cars and fixed it in a flash.
When he finished are three girls asked, "How could we ever repay you Mr."
After thinking for a short while he replied,"Could you hold my camel?"

Hmm... seems like two weeks ago you were casting heavy aspersions on Vista
and stating that Ubuntu was the only way to go. I guess I'll have to take
your posts with a grain of salt going forward.
