Vista SP 1 for Home Premium - confused!

I have Vista Home Premium, I have read other posts and follwed advise to see
if SP1 is installed. The Start - Computer - properties - option does not show
it under Windows Edition as described in one post. I go to Windows Update
and cant find it listed there as installed updates. Pretty sure now that its
not installed. go to the download page and it directs me to Windows update
for single PC downloads, WU takes over and says I am fully up to date!
Advice in other posts says to let WU take care of it and it will download and
install SP1. What now? Do I have SP1 or no?

Under my windows it says Home Premium SP1

If yours does not say it then I would guess you do not have it. It took a
while for SP1 to get to me from Windows update due to a driver issue. And
during that time windows update said everything was up to date which I
believe is what you may be going through. In other words you will not get
SP1 if it detects a problem with your current configuration/drivers. In my
case it was the sound driver from IDT that was holding things up. Once that
update was done I got the SP1

Hope that helps

Thanks!

You do not have it, and are not being offered it because you use some driver
or app that is not able to run with SP1:
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is not available for installation from Windows
Update and is not offered by Automatic Updates:

crispo,

Click on the Start orb and type "winver" without the quotation marks.
You can then click on "winver" which will be offered to you at the top of
the search window.
If you have SP1 installed you will see something similar to what I have
provided in the link below:

Click Start, then right click on Computer, then properties. If you
have successfully installed the Service Pack it will say so under
Basic Information About Your Computer.

The SP1 Update may or may not be consider a option. For some half-ass
reason Microsoft decided to offer SP1 to only some users at one time,
supposedly to not over tax their servers.

You can also download SP1 and install it directly from this site:
