Vista says files no longer exist on desktop when they do

Trevor

If I try to copy any file from my desktop to a usb drive I get a message
that 'This is no longer located in C:\Users\Mine\Desktop. Verify the item's
location and try again. My desktop is covered in files and any of them give
the same message.

ExplorerXP, a freeware Explorer replacement, is available here:
http://www.explorerxp.com/

It displays everything on your system without all the hidden/permissions
headaches MS insisted on including with Vista. It's amazingly like the old
days, when you could open Windows Explorer and trust that you were seeing
everything on your system.

Since I own my system, and nobody but me uses it, I'm still waiting for
someone to explain to me who the hell I need "permission" from to work with
my files.

It seems to be the USB drive thats the problem, works fine with another one.
It's suddenly stopped working , Anything I can try to repair it?
