So this is a WINDOWS XP newsgroup I realize, so can anyone point me to where
in the **** is a vista group that's actually on Microsoft's site?
I previously had Vista Beta 2 on my computer, then formatted and have been
using XP on that computer for a while. I got a copy of RC1, and it says it
cannot install because it can't update the boot configuration, which I have
no idea why, or if there's a log file somewhere, or what. Anyway, is there a
place to post this question?

That group's for WinXPx64, not Windows Vista.

Thank you good sir. I wouldn't want to miss out on a chance to break my
computer with a beta OS! Ha ha. Have a good one.

Have you tried checking your newsgroup listing? You managed to find this
one...

Vista, like all versions of Windows so far, installs best from scratch.
Back up what you want to save first, reboot to the Vista CD and go from
there.

That's not it. That's for 64 bit versions of Windows, not necessarily just
Vista. Windows 2003 and XP also have 64-bit versions.

I know it was a mis-copy. I already posted a correction. Read the whole
thread.
