Vista RC-1: Cannot find file after download in Vista Beta 2 OS

Hey guys!! I just patiently waited for RC1 to download using my laptop that I
have Vista Beta 2 build 5384 on. I used the download manager and it went all
the way to "FINISHED" after that I could not find the file what-so-ever! i
restarted a few times and NADA! I went back to try and re-download and it
wouldn't allow me, stating that I had already downloaded and the product key
was good for 10 installs. SO! i created a new hotmail account and attempted
again! when I got to download manager, I could see the .iso file in the Save
As window, but if I went through MyComputer into User>Drew>Documents (where
the file existed) it is not there!! however, if I tried to save the file, it
prompted me that the filed exists and if i wanted to replace it. it is
showing it to be 2.52 GB. SO NOW, supposedly the file exists if i want to
re-save it, but I can't view it if I want to burn it, so now i'm attempting
AGAIN! *pHUCK U MICROSOFT!!!* to download it on my PC which has XP on it,
let's see how things turn out! Keep me posted, and i'll keep y'all posted!
hell no i don't want to pay another $10 and order the DVD!! I'm already
pissed off AIM won't install on Beta 2! (e-mail address removed) 'm
gONE!

Have you tried searching for *.iso ?
Include the asterisk before the extension as it will then look for only .iso
files.
You haven't lost the file, it is there and also it is a common problem that
you are seeing.

Hi Michael,

Have you set folder options to view system and hidden files? Have you
disabled the line to hide file extensions for known file types? If not, you
should do so, then try again to locate the file.

Look for it in the below path. The Virtualized folder is hidden and not
reachable unless you enter it in the path. Once you get to the Virtualized
folder, you can navigate it the same as other folders. Replace certain
information with your own. Searches won't find it and even Administrators
cannot see the folder without knowing it is there.

Mine was saved to desktop and on completion it wasn't there but when I tried
to redownload it, it showed in the save dialog
and I also found it under C drive "users" under my username in the desktop
folder but strangely it didn't show on the desktop

after that burning it went well (just burn it at the slowest speed)
if the size is 2.52Gb it's the right size and you should have no probs
burning it
you shouldn't need to redownload
