Vista Pro 32-bit, WSUS and Semi-lockups

I administrate a modest Server 2003 AD network with mainly Vista, but
a few XP, workstations. Over the last few weeks three users have
reported that when they go to use their computers in the morning, they
get a black screen. The mouse still moves, but no login screen
appears. The only way to get things working is to turn the computer
off, and when it reboots, all is fine.

This is only happening to three Vista workstations out of about two
dozen. They're all running under the same group policy settings. I
have a hunch it has to do with my weekly updates, which are done
through a WSUS so I don't have dozens of computers all downloading the
same updates from Microsoft. Has anybody had similar experiences?

Apparently some others have experienced this issue . First thing that you should do
is to post and ask in the WSUS group. See below. If it is not applicable to you then
come back and let us know. I will be watching this thread.
