Vista Photo Gallery & Encrypted Photos

Hi! Found a very strange problem. I've not used Photo Gallery before, just
tried to use it today and found the following problem.

Many of my pictures in the My Pictures problem are encrypted (I want them to
be for my eyes only, heh). When I view them from the folder with Thumbnail
view I see thumbnails without any problems.

But when I see them in Vista Photo Gallery I don't see their thumbnails,
instead I see some neutral picture with blue clouds for each of my encrypted
pictures instead of thumbnails.
(I tried to attach the picture but seems this newsroom doesn't allow
messages with attachments).

When I open some individual picture Full Screen it displays Ok in Vista
Photo Gallery but in the Gallery view I don't see thumbnails.

In fact SOME encrypted pictures still show, but most don't. If I make
experiment and decrypt the picture it immediately shows .... May be some
problem with Photo Gallery and encrypted files?

Anybody experienced?

Thanks...

perhaps the thumbnails were created on some of the encrypted images BEFORE
you encrypted them...

while the ones that do not display the thumnails were not created before the
encryption,
and the thumbnails cannot be created after encryption...

Perhaps you should try this: un-encrypt one image.. view it in the gallery
so you will be sure that the thumbnail is generated, then encrypt it again
and see if it shows the thumb.

please tell us your findings since this is interesting

Hi, just tried. After I encrypt the message again the thumbnail disappears
:))))

Doesn't Microsoft consider this a bug?... I'm sure many people encrypt
some photos for many reasons but still want to use PhotoAlbum :)))
