Vista: No sound device

When I clean install Vista Ultimate on my Intel-based (Multicenter/915p
motherboard) MCE I get no sound, because there are no sound devices
available.

I have used days, week, months to solve the problem without any luck (yes,
have installed Realtek drivers etc). See my posts in this group from 4. and
6. of Febr.

WELL - I have given up.

BUT - as I have a new Vista Ultimate in the same language as my original
MCE, I wonder if I could get around the problem when 1) upgrading or 2)
installing Vista in addition to XP MCE.

Questions:
1) Have anyone come to any solutions on this problems since I gave up in
February?
2) Could an install like described above solve the problem (bacause the XP
drivers then don't get fully erased)?

Did the Winodws upgrade advisor say your sound card was not vista capable?
Post your model computer and sound card and check both manufacturers' sites
again for Vista sound drivers. Realtek is for codecs, not sound card drivers.
See if this helps: http://neosmart.net/blog/2006/vista-sound-drivers/
Installing XP will not solve this. Did you look at Hardware Device Manager
and see what is listed for Sound Devices?
