Vista Keeps Freezing.. HELP!!

I have Recently Updated my Laptop to the Vista Home Basic OS from XP Home..
It works a treat only when i disconnect the AC cable and run it from battery
the whole thing freezes stiff... I have to manually restart my laptop each
time... Would it have something to do with a driver... Please Help??
I am running
AMD Mobile Athlon +2000
512MB Ram
1.56GHz

Hi,

A laptop usually runs in a lowered power supply state when on battery. The
lowered power supply is causing issues, the motherboard may need updated
drivers from the manufacturer to deal with this.
