VISTA installation on new HDD

Hi,
I have a gateway barebone with P4 @2.8 motherboard and will get a HDD
and some ram. I already have a dell computer with windows Vista on it,
and extra vista dvd that says (for installation only with new Dell
PC).
If I install it on the GATEWAY computer with the new HDD will I have
any problems?

Thank you for your advice

Unfortunately that is an OEM version and the license cannot be moved to a
different computer. Being from Dell, it's probably BIOS locked, which means
that you will not be able to activate on the Gateway system.

Probably not. What you have is likely an OEM copy of Vista. Ditto if you
want to move XP to a new mobo/machine.

<sigh> not that hoary old chestnut again! There is NO MENTION in the OEM
EULA (which is what the USER agrees to) that a new motherboard means a new
machine. In fact MS goes to great lengths NOT to define what a "new" machine
is.

Ok I appreciate everyone getting back to me firstly. Now, would that
mean though that if I manage to get a GATEWAY OEM windows re-
installation dvd for XP or Vista that it should be ok?
Many thanks!

It's even worse now that they (MS) tie vista to a 'blade' or HDD
partition in the license.
