Vista Installation Error

I've tried so many times to install vista in my pc but on the first restart
after copying the basic system files it stops and restarts automatically. By
trying to run it in safe mode i see that it keeps stoping while loading
crcdisk.sys file. I've tried tosearch for new updated drivers for my SATA II
hard disk drive, but the same behaviour i'm getting from Vista. My
motherboard is an Asus P5VD-MX is there any incompatibility? What am i
missing here?

Hi, Toulip.

Are you using a DVD that you burned for yourself from a download? Some
users have reported CRC errors and other problems from such a DVD. You
might need to burn another DVD (maybe using a slower speed) - or even
download the .iso file again.

If it is a retail DVD, then you might need to have it replaced by the vendor
or by Microsoft.

I do not think that this may cause any problems because i try to install it
on my brother's laptop and it was installed successfully.

Any other suggestions?

Hi, Toulip.

No other suggestions, I'm afraid. :>(

I'm not familiar with Asus mobo models (I like EPoX - and I have only one
computer, so I don't get to experiment much). I don't know if that is the
latest duo-core screamer or a veteran board barely able to run WinXP. Since
you mention SATA II, I assume that it's a current model, fully able to
handle Vista, and running a current BIOS. If you mentioned a few details,
such as make and model drives, video, etc., perhaps someone here would
recognize them and have some advice for you.
