Vista install fails after 1st restart

Hi All
I have just tried to install vista ultimate 32bit rtm on a pc that I was
able to successfully in the past install all the previous betas of vista fine
on.
The only difference is that I've got a fresh 80gb sata drive in the machine
and have removed the 200gb sata drive as it has media center 2005 on it which
i dont want to loose yet :p
It starts the install fine booting off the cd, goes through the prompting of
info like country ok.
I then format the hard drive (its sees the 80gb drive fine)etc to do a clean
install not an upgrade.
It then starts installing, uncompressing files etc.
Then it reboots once it finishes its install process but it doesn't boot
from the hard drive. When it gets to booting off the hard drive on post it
just sits there with a blank black screen...
When it gets to the blank screen the keyboard seems to have locked up.
Lights are still on the keyboard but ctrl, alt, del or even hitting the caps
lock button doesn't light up.
p5p800 asus mb, 3ghz intel cpu, 512mb ddr, geforce fx 5700, 80gb sata
Any help you can give would be great - cheers :-D

This is the first point where it is using the Vista video card drivers, and
you may have a driver problem. There are many posts on the subject and you
should search and find one similar to yours situation. You might also
explain what you mean by it doesn't boot from the hard drive, and how you
went about making it boot from the hard drive. The more specifics you
provide the better folks here will be able to help.

Am I having the exact same problem.

Do you have the same motherboard, cpu, memory, and video card?

If not then it's best not to post your issue as a reply to someone else's
thread. Start a new post giving specifics on the computer configuration and
what exactly happens.

Sorry about that, I have posted a section of my own.
Titled, "Vista Installation Fails After First Reboot"
If someone can come and help me out as well, that would be great.

Ok, hopefully someone with experience with your setup will see it and
respond. Good luck.
