vista home returns to demo video on start up

My neighbour has purchased a advent laptp running vista home, all os was pre
loaded on m/c. I have been able to create a admin password and user password
etc. but whenever the m/c is rebooted or restarted , you can log on as normal
but the m/c just returns to the vista demo video.
ctrl+alt+del brings up usual log off etc. but we are unable to get to the
atcual operating system.
Can anyone help me thanks in advance

New laptop problems = call the laptop mftr. It sounds like a problem
with how the laptop was imaged.

I suspected, so I spoke to the vendor and it is a ex demo model and needs
