Vista Home Premium Activation Issue

When I purchased Vista Home Premium Upgrade a year ago, I upgraded from XP
and did a "clean install" that allowed me to wipe my C drive and start from
scratch. I did a 2nd clean install a week ago to start over again after
experiencing slow response and wanting to start fresh. I'm now getting an
activation notice and when I enter the code, I'm told this version cannot be
used for a clean install and that I have to purchase another license. Who can
I contact to resolve this issue as I paid for the Vista upgrade and the 1st
install a year ago went just fine with no activiation issues? Thank you.

You cannot clean-install a Vista Upgrade package - it must always be
installed as an upgrade to a previous operating system. You will likely
have to restore your system back to it's Windows XP configuration and then
do the upgrade again.

This is the process I used the 1st time and it went well. I thought I used
the same steps this time but apparently I did not follow all steps. Any
suggestions for a re-install without actually wiping out my drive? I just
finished reloading all my apps (took several days)

Thanks

Will do. I could go back to 3.1 if I had to as I've kept all of my previous
Windows versions (for some strange reason I can't explain).

Thank you
