vista home network

i have a laptop a hp laptop with windows vista and it wont connect to the
home wireless network, i have had this laptop for 5 months and never had a
problem before, we went away for 2 months and came back and now it wont
connect, it can see the network and the strength of signal just wont connect,

there is another laptop that running xp that has no trouble connecting,

any ideas

Is it giving you a reason why it won't connect? Are you using any kind of
encryption? If so, what kind?
