Vista has trouble booting up after upgrading from XP

I have an Enpower tower that originally had XP on it then I got the Vista
upgrade disc and have been having trouble booting up . Help please, would
could the problem be , I had took my tower to a local repair shop and they
thought I needed a whole new mother board. I don't think so though because my
tower worked fine before upgrading to Vista .

What are the system specs?

CPU, RAM, Graphics, Motherboard model?

What runs an XP OS will not necessarily run a Vista OS.

Trouble booting up means that I will try and boot up then my tower will shut
down and restart 2-4 times maybe before finally staying on.
