vista has dropped connectivity with Netgear router

Hi there,
I recently bought an hp laptop with windows vista and the wireless netgear
router 614 v8. However the connection is always dropping, and usually won't
connect after coming out of sleep, it can't be a problem with the router
because there are other computers not vista that have no connection problems.
Do i need to change any setting on my comp? restarting the router does
nothing, this is frustrating, help!

first, unbind IPv6 from the wireless
http://digitalmediaphile.wordpress.com/ipv6-how-to-unbind-from-a-nic-in-windows-vista/

does anything change?

other things to consider:
1. change the channel on the router
2. be sure you are broadcasting the SSID

ok I unbound from IPv6 no change again, :(
How do you do the other two steps?
Also do you think there is a setting under my power plan that will allow me
to change whether I want to disconnect from the internet when I put the
computer into sleep or when it automatically goes into sleep. It seems that
the problem only happens when it comes out of sleep.

as a test, change the power plan to high performance.

as for step 2, depends on what router you have, but generally when
you log into your router, there is a wireless setup option that
turns broadcast on or off

ok I unbound from IPv6 no change again, :(
How do you do the other two steps?
Also do you think there is a setting under my power plan that will allow me
