Vista Disk Defragmenter

Hello folks.
I've got 3 hard drives installed on my computer; C:, D:, E:.
I use C: for the OS and programs.
I use D: and E: for storage.
When I boot-up or re-start Vista the Disk Defragmenter starts up and starts
to analyse all the disks.
To make sure I'm on the right track, I click Start/All
Programs/Accesories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter and sure enough it says
that it's 'Analysing Disks'.
I've got the 'Run on schedule' box un-ticked so it's greyed out.
I've re-installed Vista as an upgrade twice.
Is there any way to uninstall the Vista Disk Defragmenter?
There must be something wrong somewhere, I don't want to defrag my hard
drives everytime I boot-up.
Thanx in advance.
