I recently purchased a laptop which has MS Vista installed. My Pc has
Windows XP and on the left side of the sceen it has a featue
"System Tasks". The laptop has a panel labelled "Favorite Links"
Is there any way I can install info inthe Vista panel simuliar to
that
contained in Winsows XP?...Thanks

If by "screen" you are referring to windows explorer, the Task Pane you're
looking for is gone. Instead, you'll see that the Command Bar (tool bar)
dynamically changes to provide most of the functionality you seek.

See www.geekgirls.com/vista_superguide_explorer.htm for some explanation of
all the changes.

in XP the task pane was also somewhat dynamic, but the taskpane was easier
to remember in what fuction you got which option...

now as with evertything in vista you have to be wandering clicking on stuff
to see where that option you had seen is

VISTA IS THE WORST OS

Wrong Numb Nuts. Windows ME is pretty bad. Vista is OK once you get to
know it. Maybe Vista is much more complicated to your simple mind. Just
FYI

Better head over to the Ubuntu group. They have plenty of openings and
their OS is Free.
