He can either buy a third party defrag program or change OS. Both
alternatives are choice. I'm pro choice.

Any more questions?

Alias

Yes, do you ever take your head out of your fat ass?????

So he only has one option. Stick with the OS he has and get a third party
defrag. The changing of the OS is completely off topic as usual

One, it is on topic and two, you don't decide what's on or off topic.

If he follows my advice and switches to an OS that doesn't *need* to be
defragged, he doesn't have to worry about that ever again.

What do you do with the wife that isn't human?

That would be you sheep-fukker.
I've only ever had one wife.

Has your wife #4 been with you for so long because she isn't human?

Sourpuss,
Thanks for the suggestion. I just downloaded and tried Auslogic's
Defragmenter and I am very pleased.

I was sorely disappointed with the disk defragmenter supplied by MS with XP
and the disk defragmenter supplied with Vista is a prime example of the
incompetence of the junior programmers used by MS.

I only wish I had run across Auslogic's Defragmenter prior to purchasing
Diskeeper. Diskeeper is a definite improvement over the MS "offering" but
my vote is for Auslogic. In the future, I will wholeheartedly recommend
Auslogic's Defragmenter.

I know, right? They sure know how to take a bad thing and just make it

It wouldn't be so bad not seeing the progress if it didn't take HOURS!
Well, I don't know how many hours exactly. Like I said, I've never
completed a vista defrag...don't know how anyone has that kind of
patience.

I would suspect, they supplied a very basic defrag, to allow the headroom,
for third party vendors to offer their defrag programs. If MS included a
very good, efficient, graphical defrag program, then perhaps most folks
would not see a need for a third party program, then they would be bashed
for their monopoly type practices...

I agree in it's slowness, I have completed defrags, and even just a basic
defrag after only running about a week or so after the last one, can take
some time on the C partition. You can set it , to run automatically in the
background, so it keeps your system defragged as you go, supposedly it only
runs when the system is idle.

I myself prefer a manual defrag, as part of my regular maintenance
procedure, and will probably eventually purchase something like Diskeeper.

How about the TWIT who tries to shove Ubuntu down all our throats?

Well, Alias, you are stupid.

You use Ubuntu and preach about it here. Why not get a life and find
something better to
do than trying to get Vista users who don't want and don't need that piece
of Shit OS called Ubuntu.

Imagine, Ubuntu is FREE and still NOBODY wants it. That should tell you all
you need to know about Ubuntu.

Simply not true. Ubuntu and Linux have been FREE for a long time. Imagine
a FREE product that still has less than one percent of the desktops. If the
product was great, everybody would be installing it and dumping Microsoft
products. That simply isn't the case. Look it up. It is fact.

Since a FREE product still can't capture more than one precent of the
desktop, it is pure CRAP.
