Vista can't detect my 2nd hdd

I hv xp in my c:, and installed vista in my d:(2nd hdd) successfully, was
working fine for a while, then the mouse went crazy, able to pull down menu
but select automatically. Re-formatted d:, tried to install again, but vista
installation disk failed to detect d:.

used xp, d: working fine, puzzle........anybody can enlighten me, thks.

Hi Harlee,

You probably have one of two problems:

1. You need to insert the driver disk for a SCSI or RAID controller during
the installation process; or
2. You legitimately have a bad hard drive or HD controller.

Try the first, and if it works then you're flying. If not, you may have to
see a tech!
