Vista Beta 2 vs Vista Release Candidate?

I have had Beta 2 of which I uninstalled shortly after I installed it due to
fact I had a few problems with older programs. Here it is a couple of months
later and I receaved a copy of Windows Vista Release Candidate 1. Is this
most recent copy (Release Candidate1) a step up from Beta2 or are they the
same?

They are not the same, different builds. I don't think that's really what
you were asking though. Yes RC1 is, overall, the better build. Know that
application compatibility depends mainly on the application, though some
apps might work in RC1 when they didn't in Beta2. Then again an app that
worked in Beta2 might not work in RC1. You have to try it. The purpose of
running any Beta build is testing.

I strongly recommond you to try the RC1, since I feel RC1 is much more
reliable than Beta2. It works smoothly on my computer for a week!
But the latest build isn't the RC1 5600, but RC1 5728. Search online and
you'll find it.
