Vista backup contents

Just curious. I have been using "Backup and restore" automatically and store
the file(s) on a usb HDD. My system is Vista Home Premium, can you tell me
what it is that is being backed up? Seems some sources are saying that in
case of the need to restore my os, my backup will contain not only my
personal data and settings but my programs and applications as well???

Thank you,
Ed

Vista Premium contains only a file backup utility - it does not backup the
OS or applications. When setting up the backup the default files/data
included are indicated.

Files can be added of deleted from the backup set.

Versions Business, Ultimate and Enterprise include "Complete PC Backup and
Restore" in addition to file backup. Consider one of the above Vista
versions or a third party utility such as Acronis or Norton Ghost to provide
full restoration.
