I know I know I should have checked whether Vista Premium contained fax
software. The point is my aunt bought the computer at Dell for me, she
chose fax and assumed software was included. As we all know the is no
software. My question is does anyone lnow of any compatable software? Have
searched many times but cant find any. Also am on tight budget so needs to
be cheap. Thx

How about less than $4?

There are lots more at download.com at various prices from free upwards.

After the initial annoyance of finding no FAX in Vista Home Premium I
installed Snappy Fax. Setting up the cover page in the quirky editor was a
bit tiresome but after that it is has proved reliable and easy to use.

I concur with Doug that Snappy Fax is a nice product for Vista. You can try
it free for 30 days and it only costs $29.95 to register which is a lot
cheaper than upgrading to the next higher version of Vista.

It is working great with my internal modem but I have not yet gotten it to
work using my cell phone as a fax modem either when the phone is tethered
with a USB cable or through a blue tooth connection. This used to work fine
under Windows XP. I occasionally need this capability and am frustrated that
I lost it by upgrading to Vista. It seems like a downgrade. I have an email
into Snappy Fax technical support and maybe they will come through for me.
As they have the only fax software that runs under Vista I can imagine that
they are very busy right now.

Yes and if you have one line a good fax switch.
Fax software at snappysoftware.com Snappy Fax Verision 4.0 is working fine
for me.

Also I only have one line for data and voice.
I bought a fax switch from Stapple.
It was ComSwitch 5500 and I used the Semi-automactic mode and it works great.
