Vista Activation

Hi,

I've got a little problem with the Activation of Windows Vista. I've
installed january, activation was no problem. Several days ago I've changed
the CPU, Now I've changed the graphiccard. Now Vista says to me I've got to
re-activate it. I've chosen "reactivate" but now it say I could not activate
because it's already in use...already in use? Only I'am using this version of
Vista!

Maybe I should have stay with XP...

Sorry for my bad english!

Thank you for any help!

Use the activation routine when prompted but use the activate by phone
option. You'll need to go through a few menus but ultimately, you'll speak
to a human. Tell the individual what you've done and they will provide an
activation key over the phone.

I've called ist. The computer on the other end of the phone said the code is
invalid. And human employee is not available at this time. Now we've got 1:47
at the morning. I'm working shift...

Follow the instructions for telephone activation. That is your only option.

I've made the phone call.

On how much computers have you installed it? -Only one, I've only got one
PC...
Which components have been replaced? Graphics, CPU and I've installed more
RAM...

You'll now get your activation code!

Ok, problem solved! Thank you very much!!

Doing this is still a pain. Windows XP allowed you to do clean
installs on you system several times beforte you had to call. All I
had to do was change one piece of hardware and I had 2 days to
activate. I had to call and it costs me 40 cents per minute as they
would not work with Skype, and I entered the new activation code.
Shortly thereafter the hard drives started to fail! I bought new hard
drives, did a clean install and I now have 28 days left to activate. I
am NOT looking forward to calling them. This feels too much like big
brother is not just watching everything you do but wants to control
you.

I didn't even change or add hardware, I just rearranged my RAM to enable
dual channel support.
At boot, I was told I needed to activate.
They've pushed the envelope way to far with this crap!
I have converted 15% of my network to Linux so far.
The garbage MS keeps throwing out with will be the death of them yet.

It is Sunday morning and I decided it is a good a time as any to waste
jumping through the activation hoops. I was pleasantly surprised that
unlike the last time, it activated automatically online through the
Internet.

Maybe one of those Vista perfomance updates changed something in this
department? If it did it they get two thumbs up from me. :)
