Vista 64 Home Premium problem

When attempting to change appearance of any image MS Office Picture Manager
Takes over proprietary ownership or so it seems.

I have utilized Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.04 for many years and am totally lost
on how force Vista to allow me to use the imaging program I have
successfully installed in the X86 folder.

Nor for the matter will not show PSP is available from any point I could
locate within the available program feature of "MS Office Picture Manager ".

Is there away to redirect Vista to only look at Paint Shop Pro 7.04?

I suppose you want PSP to open when you dubbleclick an image file.
Open PSP. Click File/Preferences/File Format Associations

Tick those file types you want to associate with PSP.

You don't say how you are starting the photo edit but if you right-click
an image file and select 'Open with' and then 'Choose default program'
you can select or browse for PaintShop Pro. Note the 'Always use' tick
box.
Reading between the lines on the Corel site version X2 Ultimate might be
the first fully Vista compatible version.
Personally I have 'Preview' (by Photo Gallery) as the double-click
action and use the 'Open with' context list to start PaintShop Pro when
needed.

Start - Default Programs - Associate a file type or protocol with a specific
program. Select the appropriate extension and set the default program to the
program you want.

I've got PSP 8 in Vista Home Premium. I made that the default (as Tyro
suggested to you.) Works fine.

To each of you very nice people who responded to my question,

Sincere thanks and have tried all your suggestions, used those
that were applicable and now have Vista and MS Office Picture
Manager under "my" control as is proper.
