Hi,

I'm looking for surveys research or esimations what is the current and
future estimated (2008-2009) market share of vista 64 bit among home users /
gamers.
Any piece of data will be helpfull.

Thanks,
Shapupu

Search Google, its not high I would personally say since most OEMs ship
systems with Vista 32 bit and the majority of retail Vista SKUs especiall
consumer and business premium SKUs except for Ultimate come with only the 32
bit disk.

Check Steam for the gamers that run Vista 64 compared to other OS's.
It's part of Half Life and other games.

Only Ultimate retail includes the both platforms. You have order the 64 bit
disk separately for the other SKUs.

Yes, and with hardware all being released in mostly 64 bit incarnations
lately, and software/hardware requirements growing, it's only a matter
of time before 64 bit becomes standard.

As a datapoint, I recently went from 32-bit to 64-bit, so far the only
issue at all is that my Palm and iPod Touch only have 32-bit drivers.

For the Palm, I can still hotsync via bluetooth if desired.

At the moment I am able to sync both against a 32-bit Vista installation
under VMWare, so that keeps me happy enough.

This is on a fairly modern system which I built specifically for Vista,
but did not factor in 32 vs 64 at all, I originally had no intentions of
going to 64-bit, so that wasn't a deciding factor when purchasing
components. A need for additional RAM prompted the upgrade, and I
couldn't be happier.
