Vista 5744 and Skype

Has anyone tried Skype on Vista 5744?

For me it stutters during calls, but this is the only program that has sound
stuttering on it, everything else works great.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I can tell you that I am using Skype with no problems on Build 5840.

I have heard that some people it works fine for and others it dosent...isn't
anyone else here having this problem?

I can only contribute that Skype works perfectly for me on Vista 5744, Great
sound and no stuttering. Far better, in fact than on XP

I just installed it and it worked after possibly adjusting some volume
controls.

Riley, Just so you won't think you're the only one, I've also had problems
with stuttering with Skype, when it works at all. (Some drivers I've tried
give me no mike support at all). I think it may depend on what sound
card/chip you have and what drivers you are using. I have a laptop with
Realtek AC97 sound, and while it has improved, it isn't as good as XP yet.
I'm also using 5744. On my desktop with a Creative SoundBlaster Live I can't
get any mike, as the Vista drivers don't have all that is needed to support
it and Creative isn't writing any SBLive drivers for Vista.
