Viruses found in files intersvc.exe and wugrds.exe

Hello,

My anti-virus program discovered viruses in the files intersvc.exe and
wugrds.exe in folder WINNT/SYSTEM32.
The AV was not able to delete or quarantine the files.

1. Are these files needed for W2000 Server?
2. If not, how do I remove the files? (I get a message they are in use.)

These are not part of Windows. Try starting in safe mode and manually
removing them.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, even in safe mode the files are
locked by the system.

Any help?
