virus

I have windows XP and apparently it was invaded by a worm
virus yesterday. I cannot download the security patches
or antivirus stuff because I can't stay on the internet
longer than 30-45 seconds ... cause of the worm. Does
anyone have any suggestions??? I NEED to use my email ...
job applications ... moving ... new job ...
recommendations ... etc.

As soon as you can! You are running the 32-bit version

Also enable Windows XP's built in firewall:

Then go to WindowsUpdate to pick up the latest updates:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
