Julian

I have an infected file, laonkey.dll, with a
trojan.backdoor virus. Norton has detected the virus but
failed to clean the file because it says the file is in
use. Does anyone know what application, service, etc is
using laonkey.dll? Thanks and appreciate any help.

most likely the file is the virus itself.

search for the string in the registry. if you find it under "run", remove
the entry. then reboot. the file will likely stopped being used.

Hi Julian - Try running your AV from Safe mode to allow it to delete this
Trojan, and/or you can manually delete the file from Safe mode as well IF
you sure that the AV has cleaned up everything else associated with it. Be
sure that you re-run your AV in normal mode when you've finished.
