Virus that Can't Be Quaranteened or Deleted

I'm desperate. I'm using my work laptop at home to
complete a report. My Norton Antivirus detected a virus,
name "Backdoor.Sd", location :c:\\windows/system32.

My attempts at getting rid of it w/Norton have failed.
The virus woon't Quaranteen and it won't delete. And the
Microsoft websites for me are a bit too much information.

Can someone out there offer me some suggestions on how to
get rid of this pesky virus?

If you are using ME or XP you may need to follow the instructions on the
link to remove/delete the infected file.
