Hello,

in the past 2 days or so, i have received e-mails, which
contained trojan's, these were immediately deleted by my
scanner, but whats interesting is the address/name of the
senders =

(e-mail address removed), (MS Public Assistance)

(e-mail address removed) (Microsoft Internet Security
Center)

obviousley they aren't from Microsoft even though they
claim to be, but anyone who isn't as vigilant (or
paranoid) as me, might be duped into opening them when
they see the microsoft name within the e-mail.
should i report this directly to Microsoft ? is there any
point ?

Neil,

You could report it to Microsoft although this is an
issue that occurs all to often. The problem being that
any SMTP server out there which isn't restricted can be
used to send an e-mail from a forged account / fake
account.

You could report it, and see what happens, below is the
MS Spam site:

http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/twc/privacy/spam.mspx

This site is a master register for SPAM:

www.abuse.net

Hope this helps
