virus scan backup

Can someone tell me how I can back up my Mcafee virus
scan updates? I am trying to track down a problem with my
computer and I want to delete my virus scan for a couple
days to see if things improve if they do I will get a
different one.
I tried going to C: - program files - Mcafee - Mcafee
virus scan. I select all files then I selected the copy
to folder in E:(my cd writer) but I get this message
E:\is not accesible incorrect function.

My problem is something is slowing down my computer. In
task manager svchost looks like the troublemaker it's
using alot of memory, if I end it in task manager the
memory and page file usage drops to almost nothing. I
have done the adaware, spybot, hijack scans and lots of
other online free trojan and virus scans that people here
are recomending but none have found anything. Not even my
own virus scan.
Since no virus has been found I am thinking it might be
something I installed. If someone has some advise I would
like to hear it.

Why not just uninstall mcafee and see if that is the problem? If is
isn't then reinstall it from your orig media and download the updates.

Or am I missing something here?

I want to save on a disk incase I want to reinstall. I
did a system restore in december and with my slow dial
up connection it took me two hours to download all the
stuff from Mcafee. I just want to try make it a little
easier on myself.
